If you are reading this on Tumblr, you may have noticed that there was no post until late yesterday. That’s because Tumblr flagged a page full of violence as being inappropriate for the site. Not because there was violence, but because the sorting algorithm decided that it was of a sexual nature. This despite the lack of female presenting nipples. The same post went up on the WordPress mirror site with no issues.

I have successfully(?) appealed the incorrect flagging of yesterday’s post, but I feel confident that we can expect to (not) see more posts like this. Some of them don’t meet the new standards, to be fair. And there are a lot of flesh tones in Heavy Metal. Given that there is no real incentive for Tumblr to change or adapt, I don’t see the sense in continuing this blog on Tumblr.

Fun fact: the WordPress importer did not gather posts in the queue. So I’m going to spend some of my vacation manually importing 80+ draft entries. And then I’m going to scan the next issues and close out 2002 before the end of 2018. And then schedule the lot (haha) on WordPress. But I’m not going to bother posting anything new to Tumblr. There are posts scheduled there through mid-March in the Tumblr queue, so you’ll see it autopost for a while and one day it will just quit.

But the WordPress site will continue to keep going, and that’s where I’m going to be posting new content. Update your links if you haven’t already.

Concurrent with all of this, I have established a Patreon account to cover administrative back-end costs associated with WordPress support. I’m not looking for more than a dollar a month from any one person. I wouldn’t know what would come with higher rewards. A visit to the collection?
