The bulk of the story is about a prisoner who is watching his friend get tortured, so he invents an elaborate ruse that will help him die quickly. And then we get to this page, where we discover that was just a story being told in a graveyard. As far as I’m concerned, the exchange in the middle tier is the best thing in the story.
