With this page, the story takes a quick detour into the training of child soldiers, including target practice on the rooftops of what are presumably tenements. Why nobody bothered to find out why people were firing rifles strikes me as odd, but I guess it’s meant to be a commentary on the dystopian aspects of this world. Also note that one of the characters is named “Anthracks.”
