Having the woman disrobe before fighting a duel in the dark seems an awful lot like fanservice, but there are documented cases of women sword fighting topless from the same period because they didn’t want the fabric from their clothes to get into the wound and get infected. At any rate, the non-verbal sequential storytelling here is just fantastic.
