This material was originally black and white, but was colored for this publication. Bode was dead by that point, so it was done “in his spirit.” The whole story is filled with knowing jabs to sci fi cliches and naked women being fondled by heroes and scientists – who have duck bills for some reason. The women don’t, but the men do. I’m not sure what that’s about.

This establishing shot is great because I’m firmly convinced that he drew the original design of the ship from his bong. (Sunpot. Sun pot. Get it?)
