The crashed car for sale in the first panel reeks of Ballard. The name of the car is Metal Hurlant – the French art magazine that was the precursor to Heavy Metal. The name means Screaming Metal, which is referenced in the lyrics of the song – also heavily Ballardian. It hangs together very nicely.
