Written by Yves Chaland, this is a fairly typical Lovecraftian story about a sculptor who has spent his entire artistic career trying to translate the drug-induced vision he had as a student in stone. The Lovecraftian twist is that the narrator isn’t the primary character, but instead a friend of the artist who is investigating the aftermath of something dreadful – providing context and breathless discovery all mixed together.
