Rock Opera continues. The main character heads to human civilization to try and get a job that utilizes his abilities in assemly language – something he picked up in his spare time as a leisure activity. The first episode of the strip was in black and white – here it has converted to color, where it remains for the majority of it’s run.

One of the things that Heavy Metal was experimenting with at the time was cutting strips into pieces and running them concurrent with longer text pieces – this half page is running opposite the ongoing history of underground comix. In this way, two full pages of Rock Opera were stretched into four half pages that broke up the walls of text presented by the new columnists that were introduced last issue.
