Another early Corben story that has been dusted off for publication – you can tell because the coloring contains almost no airbrushing and there are no naked women at all in the story, but there is a scene where the knight in the top panel rapes his wife. This event (from the previous page) inspires her to hope that his “cancerous dong” rots off in the center of this page, easily the most amusing line in the story.

In addition to his extremely detailed (almost too busy) linework, Corben also takes advantage of the occasional “who needs a caption box when I can just leave the sky as a blank white space” panel like the one in the middle of the page. This offers him room for exposition to move the story along. It’s a storytelling choice that looks slightly dated and shows up less and less as he got more confident in his abilities.
