One of the interesting design tweaks that the new editorial team introduces in this issue is a blueline overlay over the Chain Mail column. This month’s letters are the standard bitching about the new content – the third letter starts by pointing out that there are plenty of magazines that contain text reviews of various things. All of the letters seem to hold the expectation that Heavy Metal is meant to be a purely visual magazine containing nothing but fantasy or science fiction – the first letter is violently opposed to printing Moebius’s Lt. Blueberry feature because it’s a western (!).
