This nearly wordless story from the Schuiten Brothers features a medival warrior falling into a chasm of some kind and encountering the flora within. Chasms (an obvious sexual symbol) that contain weird plant and animal life are a recurring theme in their work – both from this era and in their later work – which makes me wonder about what kinds of encounters they’d had by this point in their lives.
