The strip at the bottom of the page is the first appearance of Larry Elmore in this publication. Elmore later went on to produce an ongoing strip in the pages of Dragon magazine, where he also found favor as a cover artist. The punchline of the strip is silly fun, but it’s interesting that Elmore leaned in the direction of “topless woman talks to man in a robe” for his first Heavy Metal submission.
