What I enjoy most about Kirchner’s The Bus is the variety of approaches he takes to presenting what is essentially just a wordless half-page strip about a man waiting for and riding a bus. Along the way, we get these wonderful little meta-textual pieces where the main character casually steps across boundaries as if they weren’t there, in the name of the basic “getting on the bus” goal.
