I really love the effect in the first panel. Aside from the art, this page is notable for having all of the little production ticks that you’re not meant to notice. For example, the page numbers of the magazine have gotten a lot of more consistent and easier to read. Also, this page was originally serialized French anthology magazines in two pieces – the top half of the page and the bottom half. If you look in the bottom right hand corner of the third panel and the bottom right hand corner of the last panel, you’ll see little boxes that indicate that these were segments 38A and 38B – the order that they were run in.
