This is a great standalone introduction to the character that ran before the title page of the short story. The story itself goes off the rails pretty quickly into some weird robots posing as humans story that doesn’t end well.

But this worked, for the most part. More stories should start with a one-page “in action” introduction to the character before the action really gets going.
