The third story in a triptych by these two creators about small towns and contemporary social issues, this story starts with a riff on Little Nemo in Slumberland that becomes very obvious on the third page when the little prince shown in yellow here wakes up crying out for his Mama.

Bilal’s version of a Nemo dreamscape is almost menacing – maybe it has something to do with the combination of bright, almost pastel colors and his obsessively harsh edges and crosshatching.
