This one page story is heavily based on Ray Bradbury’s Illustrated Man anthology – even going so far as to mention the Raybury Publishing House. The idea here is that these individuals were tattooed for a movie role, but that the art didn’t wash off when it was meant to. The individuals represent various genres – science fiction, gothic romance, mysteries and comics (which is a medium, not a genre).
