Rock Opera moves out of the war parody into a satire about a town full of fairies that are getting rounded up by some appropriately fascistic armored guys on horses. The second to last panel has one of our heroes protesting that he’s not a fairy, with the response in the last panel of “Thou doth protest too much!” – the standard response to people who really react badly to being referred to as gay.
That’s one of the things I like about this series – the parallels are just obvious enough to be picked up on and there are enough stolen visual references on the page to pop culture to keep it lively.
