This issue presented an excerpt from Stephen King’s Cycle of the Werewolf, which was published as a series of short stories with accompanying illustrations by Bernie Wrightson. I’m not sure how well this presentation in Heavy Metal affected overall sales of the book, but it makes sense – both King and Wrightson have shown up in the publication before.
