Swarte’s main character Jopo de Pojo has shown up in the pages of this publication before, but this is the first feature-length piece. The goofy coincidental slapstick of the main character contrasts with the sinister kidnapping plot masterminded by the millionaire who arranges for his son to be held for ransom so that he can write it off on his taxes. This opening page does a great job of setting up the parallel threads of the story and I love the transformation from bed head to one giant black fin with the liberal application of hair gel.
