A few issues previously, there was a review of Harlan Ellison’s new book; the title of the review was “Hatcheting Harlan.” Predictably, it was a hatchet job.

This produced a good number of letters, both for and against the treatment. The text in the last paragraph is allegedly from a newsletter sent by the Harlan Ellison Record Collection – it describes in some detail what the article said and provides contact information at Heavy Metal for people who want to participate in a letter writing campaign.
