One of the best parts of reading magazines from 1984 is seeing far off years like 2003 show up in fiction. In the eighth panel, there’s a mention of a ship named Lt. Caley, which is a reference that is over twenty years old by 1984; roughly the same amount of time has passed between the publication of this magazine and now.
