This comic came out years before Johnny Depp played Ed Wood in Tim Burton’s film, so only the hardcore psychotronic film buffs knew about this musty corner of filmmaking. But part of Heavy Metal’s charm was that it presented unknown material to a relatively mainstream audience – to varying effect.
