This wacky little Joost Swarte story is about a detective who investigates a string of bizarre suicides, only to find that they’ve been killed by a serial killer who makes their deaths look like suicides – ironically linked to the jobs they did.

All of this is a punchline for the image in the final panel – where the detective has been killed in a number of different ways, just like the suicides he was investigating.

As a deconstructed take on the standard cop story, it almost works. But the best part of Swarte is the fine line details. He’s a master of the 80s linge clair school and it’s just a pleasure to look in the corners of the panels for hidden gems.
