Another cross-section. I think that this page was one of the reasons I was drawn to this story – it’s one of the features that I remember very vividly. In fact, it was at about this time – as I turned 12 – that I really started reading Heavy Metal as it came out. The issues came in the mail, after all.

Anyway, Moreno’s linework in this story really benefits from the saturated color palette. It’s got a very fluorescent shine to it, especially the snow. It’s got an expressionist aspect to it that calls back to non-realist coloring schemes from Pilote in the late 60s and early 70s.
