To this point, there is a ton of problematic material in this story. Manara seems to be cognizant of that in the first two panels, as an African-American woman changes her shape to conform to the expectations of what African women look like. 

And then there’s the whole thing with the background being drawn terribly, which is super-hilarious in such a well-drawn story.
