This is a new subscription ad. Something to note is that Heavy Metal is offering three year subscriptions for $61 off the cover price. At the end of 1985, Heavy Metal moved from a monthly to a quarterly schedule, which makes me wonder what they did with all of their subscribers who had taken them up on this offer.
