The first editorial from the first issue of the new format really doesn’t provide any significantly new information, if you were paying attention to the previous issues. In theory, though, this issue is intended to be “new reader friendly,” so it’s written with that theoretical new reader in mind, not the reader who has been reading for years.
One of the interesting things about this format of “go through and introduce all of the creators” is that Epic Illustrated did exactly the same thing when it first started, back in 1980. Incidentally, Epic Illustrated stopped publishing in 1986, so we can see how well that worked out for them.
