I felt like there was some significant piece of information missing from this story. For example, on the last page, this character is assaulted by a random man in a cowboy hat who seems to know him, but has never actually appeared in the previous pages.

The penultimate panel on this page raises questions – is this consensual? A dream sequence? The captions imply that maybe it was rape and/or murder, as does the expression on his face. It feels like a very strange place-holder of a story.
