This is, hands down, my favorite story about my favorite character in Heavy Metal. In many ways, this is my ideal Heavy Metal story.

The art itself is amazing throughout. The linework is just rough enough to make it interesting, but detailed enough to let the art tell the story. Here, a single page of artwork does a great job of telling us a discrete portion of the story: Dieter Lumpen lives in a tropical paradise and life is good. We don’t need any words to figure that out.
