This scene doesn’t really look all that disturbing. It’s just a mob of people beating up robots for being robots. However, the subtext of the whole story is that the robots are waiting patiently to rise up. On the following pages, a group of robotic machine guns fire into the crowd, creating what is absolutely a series of disturbing images of human slaughter. It’s interesting how what is getting attacked informs how disturbing the images on the page actually are.
