This story is one hell of a mind-fuck. The guy in the radiation suit has his wife trapped in their fallout shelter while he goes gallivanting around town, sleeping with random women and hanging out with his epicurean friends. Then he comes home and spins a crazy story about a mutated wasteland to his wife, who thinks he’s hot shit because he’s out there trading her jewelry for dented cans of food. The whole thing is kind of awful, actually.
