These characters have appeared before in this publication. Here they are wandering around New York City (or a reasonable facsimile thereof) and they kind of stumble into a dreamlike alternate reality laid overtop, where people have the faces of animals and a man on a winged horse forces them to ride with him.

This page is a lot of fun. It feels very much like an Escher print, especially that middle tier.
