This story is about a private detective who is hired to snoop on a wife who is suspected of having an affair, which she is. Instead of just turning in the images, the detective blackmails the wife into having sex with him in exchange for the pictures. This page is the end of the story and is completely awful.

First, the detective (already a piece of shit for the blackmail) smacks her in retaliation for her slapping him when he first proposed the blackmail. As she’s walking away, he thinks to himself that it couldn’t have been that bad, because she never shed a tear; in that same panel (bottom left corner), we can see her crying as she walks away. To be fair, it is a well-done sequence that pivots on the dichotomy between the caption and the reality. But it doesn’t make me feel any less slimy for reading the story.
