This story didn’t make a lot of sense. It’s very clearly about an attempted sexual assault in an abandoned tunnel of a subway station. And this scene is an attempt to flip the reader’s expectations – at one point, the woman seems scared by the group of youth who get on the train, but then we discover that she’s being assaulted by some old white man. Shock! Beyond the fact that this isn’t very well set up and it’s not clear if the interspaced panels are flashbacks or fantasies, the real question is “why is sexual assault the point of the story?”
