Cool World, for those of you who were born in 1994, was a minor hit that was predicated on the idea of a prisoner who got through his sentence by coming up with a sexy bad-girl pin up character/comic book and then things got weird when he got out. It’s a very Heavy Metal plot and the visuals were the kind of thing that seemed custom-designed to appeal to Heavy Metal readers.

Here, the ad is offering Heavy Metal readers the chance to own animation cells from the film, which is an interesting piece of recursion.
