This Jodorowsky story is the only feature in the entire issue. There are a number of things that are worth mentioning about it – and I’m going to drag out the commentary out for a few days.

The most obvious thing to note is that George Bess (with whom Jodorowsky collaborated many times) looks an awful lot like he was heavily influenced by Moebius. At a minimum, Jodorowsky was trying to get Bess to produce scenes that would make it look like Moebius had done the work.

However, there are some serious problematic elements in the story and they pop up relatively early on. Here, two pages into the story, we can see one of the most obvious – the old, bearded man with a wired brain whose constant companion is in the form of a pre-pubescent female. Not only that, but that second character is presented in an uncomfortably and obviously over-sexualized manner. (For the record, any sexualization of pre-pubescent humans is too much.)
