This is a fairly effective use of comics – the majority of the story is told without words. This first page is chock full of generic elements – knight, horse, naked woman – that are then thoroughly undermined.
We watch this knight kill a monster, fuck the woman, change out of his armor, get into a car, and go home. On the last page – the only page with text on it – we find out that the woman is divorcing him because she’s not into this over-elaborate sexual roleplaying thing he has going on with the armor and the robotic monsters. I have to admit that I was not expecting the last minute swerve into kinkshaming.
