One of the interesting things about reading through back issues of magazines is the time capsule effect. I found a review of the first Cure single buried in a pile of text in an older Dossier feature from the early 80s. It’s interesting to read reviews of bands before they get big. It’s also interesting to read reviews of bands that have all the prerequisites to go big, but don’t. This is from the latter category.
