Heavy Metal featured text pieces in every issue since #1 (an excerpt of The Swords of Shannara by Terry Brooks). The artwork is interesting because the woman is presented as a painting that the goblin is walking past.
The goblin later goes on to become a fairly famous icon as part of the magazine’s brand – it even shows up on the spine of the official archival binders.
