There are two very subtle visual narrative things worth pointing out here.

First, the second panel is actually a word balloon. Putting art in it is very clever, as is the alignment of the balloon with the other panels in the grid. Beautifully executed.

Second, the blood splatter on the wall in the penultimate panel. It completes the sequence set up by the previous panels, but does so in a very understated manner that emphasizes the ritualistic aspect of the sacrifice. The spray also lines up with the tube of blood pumping into the mech in the last panel, which is a great thematic transition.
