The entire story is a long walk to this punchline. The main character is fed up with the corruption of modern life and goes off to seek the fabled city of El Dorado in the Amazonian jungle. (Why he is searching for the fabled lost city of gold when he disdains corruption is not examined.)

Deep in the jungle, he encounters natives that have transistor radios and know of El Dorado. Before he dies from a snakebite, he begs them to take him to El Dorado. And then we get this page. Ha ha.
