Heavy Metal has had ads for fantasy books before, but here they are really getting into a cottage industry that probably propped up the company for a long time – these ads get more complex and colorful and stick around for most of the next decade.

I actually own a copy of Mythopoeikon by Patrick Woodroffe, the book featured in the upper right hand corner of the page. Chances are very good that it was originally sold at about the time this magazine was on newsstands.
