This comic has two alternating strands of narrative. One is a human scientist walking through the Drake Equation (although it isn’t called that here) with great seriousness and the other features aliens showing up over Earth, bound and determined to prove him wrong. The punchline of is that the equation offers different results based on whether you are an optimist or a pessimist.

This is billed as the prequel of this series, which means that I can look forward to more material on this theme.
