The story starts out as a conversation between a rock and roll demon and his master. It’s a long walk, but it finally leads to this page, where the myth of where Deep Purple got the idea for their most famous song gets wrapped up in the demon’s failure to assassinate Frank Zappa with a flare gun. It’s a wild ride and I learned something new.
