We are nearing the end of The Airtight Garage. At this point, the story had completely gone off the rails and Moebius was pretty much drawing anything he felt like drawing. Here, he spends a few pages drawing a man in black and a man in white flying around each other, spouting inanities – almost like he was showing off what he could have brought to American superhero comics.

This page is amazing because of the black ink effect he pulls off in the upper right hand corner. It’s the kind of thing that only someone with an absolute command of their art form would even think of trying and it works so well that it catches the casual reader by surprise – which sums up the majority of the images that Moebius presents in this feature.
