The juxtaposition of column text and cartoons is very interesting here. Not only is Bode’s work better at a smaller scale, but the text of the continuing history of underground comix from Jay Kinney on this page directly references Bode (first column, halfway down). Of the two, Kinney’s piece is far more interesting and Kinney’s column is far and away the best of the columns that Ted White brought in.
