This is one of those pieces that is very obviously from Bilal’s early to middle period – he was still in thrall to Moebius, but he was adding color and social commentary to his work. The crosshatching on this page is incredible, especially in the panel in the upper left corner of the page. It almost – almost – doesn’t need any additional color. But the addition of color really adds a lot to this page.
