By late 1980, Jim Morrison had turned into a legend and this was one of those great tell-all novels that was meant to be a blatant cash grab. Of course, this was back in the day when major book publishers actually put out ads in mass market magazines in hopes of grabbing attention from freaks and weirdos who might actually be interesting in this sort of thing – ie Heavy Metal readers.
