Take a look at the letter that starts at the bottom of the middle column. It talks about the page that caught my eye from the November 1997 issue. Despite what the editors say in the response, that was absolutely a case of attempted rape of a small boy. The apology that “nothing happened” is garbage – the whole point of that scene was that the hero was going to stand by and let it happen until his sister intervened. Also, sexual assault as a motivation is always problematic.
